  15. <p>     DIED. C. Northcote Parkinson, 83, British historian, satirist
  16. and author; in Canterbury, England. In a 1955 Economist
  17. article, Parkinson first unveiled his droll theorem of
  18. bureaucratic behavior: "Work expands so as to fill the time
  19. available for its completion." Parkinson's Law grew into a
  20. best-selling book--one of 60 he wrote over a lifetime--and
  21. a musical with typewriters playing the overture.
